Work
I currently work for TeamHealth, the nation's largest provider of hospital-based clinical outsourcing. I started as a senior software engineer in September 2006 and I'm part of a great team working on an internal software package called TeamWorks. Though I'm still relatively new at TeamHealth, I'm enjoying the work and I really appreciate the chance to use C# and get some experience with Oracle databases (my previous work was primarily with VB and MS SQL Server).
Before TeamHealth I worked for AllMeds for a little more than eight years as a software developer. AllMeds offers medical offices a powerful solution for information management. Centered on a unique and powerful specialty-specific electronic medical record, the AllMeds Enterprise solution allows doctors to spend more time practicing medicine and less time writing about it.
And no, I do not actively seek out companies with MixedCaseNames. That's just the way things happen sometimes.
Photo Gallery
My photo gallery has some of our "projects" from my days as AllMeds, including the following:
- Giant Cardboard Animals
For the past year, Carrie and I built giant cardboard animals for people's birthdays at work. We ended up making 25 of them, ranging from a couple of feet long to over nine feet tall. I have a post on the story behind it all in my blog. I also have a gallery with instructions on how to build your own cardboard animal. - The Many Deaths of "The Bird"
My boss Martin had a little stuffed animal bird that he kept around his office. One day while he was stuck in an afternoon meeting, we "burned it at the stake". Things just went downhill from there. - Decorated Offices
We've decorated offices for birthdays (before we started making the cardboard animals), for holidays, and just to be obnoxious. Check out a sampling of our work. - Co-Workers Doing Random Stuff
We've got some great people around the office. Intelligent, thoughtful, thorough, hard-working. No, really, you should take a look.
